JustScribe is an independent project run by an individual based in Sweden. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. The app is offered "as-is" and on a best-effort basis — it is not backed by a company or a dedicated support team.
JustScribe converts audio recordings into text using a third-party speech-to-text provider, and offers translation and speaker separation on top of the resulting transcript. Because this is an independently run project, 100% uptime or error-free transcription cannot be guaranteed. Accuracy depends on audio quality, language, and content; no service-level guarantee is made on accuracy or availability.
Every new device receives a one-time free trial balance of 60 minutes, granted automatically the first time it's used. Additional capacity is sold as one-time, consumable minute packs (available in 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100-hour sizes), with better per-minute value on larger packs. There are no recurring subscriptions — every pack is a single purchase, and a paid balance does not expire while your account remains active. Transcription and translation both consume minutes from your balance; translation is billed at a reduced rate relative to transcription.
All purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase — JustScribe never sees or stores your payment details. Because payments are handled entirely by Apple, refunds are requested directly through Apple's App Store refund process; this service cannot issue refunds itself and has no visibility into Apple's refund decisions.
When you request a refund for a purchase, you agree that JustScribe may share consumption data about that purchase with Apple to help Apple assess the request — for example how much of the purchased balance had been used and whether the account is in good standing. No transcripts or audio are ever shared; only this usage summary.
You agree to upload only audio you have the right to record and transcribe. You may not: upload illegal content or content that infringes someone else's rights; upload recordings made without the consent of the people recorded where local law requires it; attempt to bypass billing, rate limits, or trial restrictions; use automated tools to scrape or abuse the service; or resell transcripts produced through the service as a competing transcription product. Accounts found to be misusing the service may be closed without notice, and any remaining balance forfeited in cases of clear abuse.
The app's design, code, and written copy belong to the app's author. The transcripts and translations produced from your own audio belong to you — no rights are claimed over your content. The underlying speech-to-text and translation models belong to their respective providers.
Because JustScribe is an independently run project, no liability is accepted for indirect damages, lost revenue, or decisions made based on transcripts or translations produced by the app. Transcripts may contain errors and should not be treated as a verbatim or legal record. Total liability, to the extent permitted by law, is limited to the amount paid for minute packs in the preceding 12 months.
These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes should first be raised through the support form; failing resolution, they are subject to the Swedish courts, with Stockholm District Court as the first instance. Consumers always retain the right to refer disputes to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
These terms may be updated from time to time; the date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
